Directory Products Update – 19.1 Capabilities
The below is a list of the new capabilities brought to our Directory products for the 19.1 release. 19.1 adds extra functionality for our directory products, along with a number of bug fixes and general improvements. For the full release notes please check the individual product updates, available from the customer portal.
M-Vault
The timing of R19.1 is driven by the release of M-Switch Edge. M-Vault has some useful updates, which are being released at the same time
Headless
A key target for M-Vault, in conjunction with Cobalt, is fully headless setup and configuration. It is planned to achieve this in the next release. Two key steps towards this are released.
-
TLS Identities may be configured on headless servers, using Sodium. This is an interim capability, subject to change in future releases.
-
Headless Product Activation. A REST API and HTTP UI for generating product activation requests and applying Product Activation Keys (PAKs) is provided.
OAuth2
OAuth2 is a strategic Isode capability for providing two factor authentication and single sign-on across the Isode product set.
OAuth2 is oriented towards Web applications. Isode has a number of Java management applications, including Sodium and M-Vault Console as part of the directory product set. OAuth is added to these products with two components.
-
Support of SASL/OAUTHBEARER in M-Vault.
-
Support in Sodium, which invokes a browser to authenticate the user and then provide an OAuth Token that can be passed to M-Vault. When SSO is used, the browser will not be visible to the user.
Sodium Sync
No changes to Sodium Sync in R19.1.
