Isode x MarWorks: Driving Innovation in Secure Communications

As a result of our ongoing partnership with MarWorks, we recently took part in a number of key trials that demonstrated our commitment to driving innovation in defence technology, ensuring reliable communication solutions for defence operations.

In July, we had the chance to be part of Project ACHERON, an initiative focused on advancing defence capabilities in the UK. The goal of Project ACHERON was to use a system called TAK (Tactical Assault Kit) over a HF Radio. TAK is an Android OS based system that helps military personnel with situational awareness and tactical communication.

To achieve this goal, we combined our STANAG 5066 Server, Icon-5066, Icon-PEP, a performance enhancing proxy and M-Link, an XMPP Server, along with Codan Communications HF Radios and Antillion’s technical expertise to deliver functional TAK XMPP chat over HF Radio.

The three Isode products provided the core communications system for the trial, with Icon-5066 enabling the use of TAK and other IP applications over the HF Radio network and Icon-PEP increasing the performance and efficiency of their systems so that they can run effectively. While M-Link was used to manage the back end chat system and chat servers.

These solutions demonstrated how Isode is ensuring secure reliable communication in any environment. Following the success of Project ACHERON, we also had the opportunity to be part of the second phase of these trails, REPMUS. This is an annual event which brings together militaries, research institutions and industry to collaborate on innovative solutions for naval operations.

Here, Antillion once again demonstrated the capabilities of our ICON-5066, ICON PEP and M-Link over the Codan HF Radios. These products played a key role in supporting the discussions around secure communication solutions for naval operations.

Our relationship with MarWorks continues to provide valuable insights and opportunities for shaping the future of defence technology. This partnership allows us to have a better understand of the evolving needs of the defence industry and strengthens our ability to deliver cutting-edge, secure communication solutions for defence operations.
